COMMEMORATIVE PLAQUE AT NEUVILLE
On the
5th September 1993, at the invitation of the families Matte and
Bélanger, more than 800 people came together in the parish church of Neuville
for a celebration of the Eucharist that was presided over by Mgr Roger
Bloisvert, Vicar General.
After the Eucharist a commemorative plaque,
on a lawn near the church, was unveiled and blessed. This plaque is placed on a
stone brought from the ancestral home of the family of Dina's mother.
Following this and to great acclamation, 70
doves were released into the air in order to tell the world that Dina Bélanger
has a special place in the heart of the parishioners.
After an open-air meal, twenty artists,
descendents of the two families, together with some of the Religious, gave a
concert in honour of Blessed Dina Bélanger, which included several of her own
compositions.
