COMMEMORATIVE PLAQUE AT  ST – MICHEL  DE BELLECHASSE

In 1988, the Convent of Jesus and Mary, which was founded in 1865 at St Michel de Bellechasse, Canada, was extended with the addition of a third secondary level. This projecr coincided with the final preparations for the beatification of Dina Bélanger, a former teacher of music at this school and it had been decided to change its name  and would be known in future as "Dina Belanger College".

On the 5th June, 1993, a commemorative plaque on the outside wall of the school was unveiled, recording that Dina Belanger had lived in this house. Many of the religious of the two Canadian Provinces were present on this occasion, as well as a large delegation from the rest of the Congregation: France, Italy, Mexico, the United States, Pakistan and Gabon. The celebration was continued at Sillery, where an evening concert was offered by present and former teachers and pupils of the College, in order to honour, through beauty, our musician who had been   beatified on the 20th March 1993.

COMMEMORATIVES PLAQUES

DINA BELANGER ROAD
On the  5th November 1986, the Lady Mayoress of Sillery, Madame Margaret Delisle, unveiled a plaque with the words ‘Dina Belanger Road’, which identified Dina as a Religious of Jesus and Mary, born in the city of Quebec and indicated that the date was that on which a formal recognition of her holiness had been recognised in Rome. It is worth mentioning that the Sillery School of Music is situated in the same road and it is therefore is a fitting tribute to her who perfected her musical studies at the New York Conservatory from 1916 to 1918 and was an accomplished musician.
THE SOUVENIR PLAQUE OFFERED BY FORMER PUPILS

On the 5th June, 1993 a commemorative plaque, offered by the Association of Former Pupils of the College at Sillery, was blessed and unveiled at the Provincial House of the Religious of Jesus and Mary in Quebec . The plaque lies on a stone taken from the ashes of the Convent Chapel, which had been destroyed by fire in 1983. This simple monument, set up as a souvenir and in homage to Blessed Dina Belanger, is to be found at the very place in the former chapel where Dina, who lived nearly all her religious life in this house, would come to pray.
